Scott proposed to Katie in front of the castle in Disneyland in February 2011. Giving them a little over a year to plan their wedding.
Katie and I met in her Senior year as well , I did her Senior Portraits. A couple years later I met Maid of Honor and Bride’s sister Lindsey. It was great seeing both of them again, Katie made a GORGEOUS BRIDE.
The previous week had been rainy and cold so everyone was holding their collective breath about the Wedding Day. The forecast the day of was 60% chance of rain and the outdoor ceremony plans were in full swing. I am happy to tell you it did not rain but a very dark rain cloud passed over just before the ceremony making me a little worried. The ceremony was lovely and heartfelt. The flowers were exceptionally beautiful with an arch artfully decorated with tulle and one of the most lovely color palettes I’ve seen. The Florist was Anita from Wine Country Flowers. After Dinner the Black and White “Candy Bar ” was displayed and enjoyed! The reception was a blast, everyone was having a GREAT time!
It had been about 10 years since I’ve photographed a Wedding at MWL. The grounds had been redone and the garden area where the ceremony and outdoor photos are mostly taken is lovely and has great natural light. The inside has great natural light as well as some lovely of stained glass windows and rich wood floors. My favorite spot was the brides Victorian style dressing room with it’s lovely and carefully placed gold filigree mirrors. The Mark West Lodge has the OLDEST GRAPE VINES in the world! The original Lodge was built in 1840′s and burned to the ground in 1979. The only thing that survived were the historic vines.
