On a rainy day in town (Petaluma) I had a beach shoot scheduled for the afternoon. I must admit, the chances of the shoot happening didn’t look very good. However Michaela had been staying out at the beach all week and informed me it was sunny and warm out there. Huh? What? Sun? Really? 30 minutes away and summer was in full swing. While the rest of us were suffering with all the June rain , the coast had been lovely and warm and had been all week!
Michaela is a pleasure to photograph with her fiery red hair and piercing eyes. We had done some photos about a month ago in the Sonoma countyside with an old truck and weathered barn. Since Michaela is a High School Rep for me , she had 2 shoots. The second was of course the beach. Michaela and her Mom were having a hard time narrowing down from the previous shoot and wanted to keep the changes to a minimum. This was a perfect opportunity for me to bring along a few of my favorite beach palette items! Like a variety of seashells, a cashmere sweater and 2 of the sweetest vintage nightgowns from Lostnowfoundvintage & Intimateretreat that made Michaela look like an angel. I’m really into the vintage lingerie right now, I love the dainty details and pastel palettes , they really look sweet, especially at the beach.
