Super Bowl Sunday was looking a little uninteresting to me due to the fact the Forty Niners were not in it. ( Maybe next year!) Sitting around eating crap and pretending to care about this football game (except for the Madonna’s half time show) did not sound like a good time to me. I decided to ask Liza (my favorite Russian Muse and good friend) if she would model for me on Sunday. She delightfully agreed! At this point I was a little unsure of what we were going to do.
Things started to fall together after seeing a photograph of Marilyn Monroe in a tutu sitting in a studio barefoot. I remembered a fabulous pink tutu at the boutique Ooh La Loft in downtown Petaluma. Liza did her own hair and make-up! Her normally very long hair was tightly curled , then carefully pinned to create the bobbed hair. Make-up artist Kevyn Aucoin’s book ” Face Forward “ has great tips on transforming her face.
Liza & I collaborated on all the looks in every way. Because I know her well and we have worked together numerous times, this felt as easy as buttering bread or something else really easy! Maybe, being that the shoot was all done in my home/studio ( no shoes required) made it less complicated. At some points during the shoot… Liza looked uncannily like Marilyn. She definitely embodies old Hollywood glamour! And of course, my notorious/ precious Mickey had to pose with the gorgeous model! ( Last photo)
